East Kilbride Rotary Club
Speaker on the 5th of April 2019 was Eck Stewart talking about the Army Benevolent Fund. Eck served in the Army for 27 years, did 5 tours in Northern Ireland, served in the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia. He explained how the Benevolent fund is used to assist both serving and ex-serving personnel and stressed that all money raised in Scotland was used for Scots, none of it going South. The vote of thanks was given by Rod Shanks.
On the 12th of April 2019 Dr Barry Adam Strump returned to the club to continue his talk on interesting medical murders that had taken place over many years, in all he covered at least 15 cases includine murderers such as John Bodkin Adams, Morris Bolber, William Palmer, John Baksh & Harvey Crippen. Vote of thanks was carried out by Rotarian Kinley McDonald
Today the 30th of April 2019 was our Schools Lunch. Liz McRoberts, head teacher at Duncanrig, Jill Dodds, teacher at Calderglen and Louise McNair, teacher at St Andrews and St Brides had each brought along 3 pupils. Each of the pupils gave an interesting talk on their ambitions for the future.
